Celebrate Shark Week 2012. See eye-to-eye with these creatures of the deep with this unique offer from Snappa Charters. Travelzoo has announced a discounted price on a shark-diving adventure in Narragansett, Rhode Island, less than a one-hour drive from Providence.

For just $159 you can embark on a 10-hour shark-diving excursion in the Atlantic Ocean aboard the Snappa. The regular price is $235. Trips depart at 6 a.m. and return by 4 p.m.

Captain Charlie Donilon provides an orientation and demonstration for cage divers as the boat sails 20-50 miles offshore. The "Anti Shark Cage" holds up to three divers at a time. Divers must have PADI, SSI, YMCA or NAUI certification. Others can snorkel and observe the sharks from the "Playpen" surface platform with views of wildlife below. You must provide your own diving or snorkeling gear.



Get up-close views of mako blue or basking sharks and other marine life like dolphins, sea turtles and marlin. 

Groups save even more. Charter a private excursion for eight people for $1199, regularly $1800.
