SweetWater Brewing Company (Atlanta, Georgia) is easing craft beer lovers into the warmer weather of the coming spring with the release of their seasonal Road Trip Ale and the debut of 420 Pale Ale in cans.

Road Trip Ale is the spring installment of SweetWater's Catch & Release lineup. Brewed with lager yeast, Sterling hops, and pilsner and Vienna malts, Road Trip is unique in the sense that this beer is pretty much a pilsner recipe that has been brewed at ale temperatures. For the full lowdown on this easy drinking libation, here's the description from the brewery's press release:

Grab your mixtapes, call shotgun and fill ‘er up – Road Trip season is here! Part of SweetWater’s Catch & Release seasonal lineup, this fiery pilsner is brewed with Vienna and pilsner malts along with Sterling and US Golding hops, ringing in at 5.2% alcohol by volume. Unique for most pilsners, Road Trip is fermented at warmer ale temperatures giving it fuller flavor, all capped off with an intense, spicy hop finish.

Road Trip was officially released last week and it will be available through May. You can find this beer on draft, in six packs of 12 oz. bottles, and in the Spring Tackle Box mixed 12-pack wherever you normally find SweetWater seasonal offerings.

To pack in the cooler alongside your sixer of Road Trip, SweetWater has also rolled out 12 oz. cans of their flagship 420 Pale Ale just in time for beach and river season. This is the first offering to come off of the brewery's bright and shiny, brand-spankin' new canning line. The Krones canning line "features a 52-valve filler and six-head seamer with a capacity to package a head-spinning 550 cans per minute." The cans themselves are manufactured by Ball Corporation, and they sport snazzy blue tabs and high-definition, photo-quality labels. 12-packs of 12 oz. 420 Pale Ale cans are currently available only in Georgia to start, but the brewery will follow up with IPA 12-packs and 16 oz. tallboy singles of both 420 and IPA that will also be made available throughout their distribution area early this summer.

As the temperatures starts to rise in the Southeast, the folks at SweetWater are doing their best to ensure you don't go thirsty out there. With that in mind, get those coolers ready and keep an eye out for your bottles of Road Trip and cans of 420 to hit your area in the near future. Prost!
