Today is Diwali, the Indian festival of lights. Diwali is celebrated by people of Indian origin all over the world with the lighting of candles, lamps, electric lights etc and decorating houses and community areas. It symbolizes the end of fall and the arrival of winter. Hindus also celebrate Diwali as the victory of good over evil and the joyous homecoming of Prince Ram after his victory over the demon Ravan. People in business communities celebrate Diwali as the festival of Goddess Laxmi the goddess of wealth. Her blessings are much sought after for profitable business returns.
