Time goes by so quickly in the rock world, it's hard to believe that Raleigh's Alesana has already been around for a decade.

Not only does 2014 mark the tenth anniversary of the band who penned the name of their own sub-genre, "sweetcore," there's an album in the words, a new EP readying for release, and a tour for fans to sink their teeth into.

"In honor of Alesana having been a band for 10 years, we decided it was time to take a small break from our storytelling and write some songs about us and our experiences together as a band for the last decade: the good, the bad, the ugly, and the insane," explained front-man, Shawn Milke, in a press release.

The new material, The Decade EP, is now available for pre-order and will officially be out on April 1 (no April Fool's joke). Click here.

In further celebratory plans, Alesana will head out on tour this March and April and be joined by Get Scared, Hearts & Hands, Farewell My Love, and Megosh. Illinois rockers can catch these 'sweet but hardcore' rockers, and their assembled crew at Mojoes in Joliet on Saturday, March 30.

This is an all-ages show - click here for tickets.
