In the south, something that is enjoyed at "most every meal" is sweet tea! Here is the recipe that I use. It has been adapted from a recipe given to me from a "southern" friend!
Sweet tea is easily enjoyed all year long. Refreshing enough for the summer but great during the cold months as well.
Sweet tea
- 2 tea bags, Lipton or Lousianne (regular size)
- 1 tea pot filled with water (as shown in picture)
- 2 cups sugar
- Ice cubes
Fill a 1 gallon pitcher halfway with ice cubes.
Pour sugar on top of ice cubes.
Brew tea in tea pot, until it whistles.
Pour tea into prepared pitcher and stir.
Refrigerate.
Be sure to remove tea bags from pitcher!
Tip: For tea with lemon, add 1/3 cup of lemon juice to tea before refrigerating and stir. You can adjust the amount of lemon juice according to your taste.
