This is an update on Lexi, a pit bull rescued from the high kill shelter in Brooklyn by NYC Second Chance Rescue. Their Facebook page reported additional information on her condition in a March 31 post.
Lexi was found tied to a fence with a group of kids hanging around her. No one was sure whether the children were trying to hurt her or help her. Lexi has a major problem with her left eye, and was taken to Brooklyn ACC Friday night.
Because of her condition, Lexi was sent to an emergency vet late Sunday night. She had blood and discharge coming from her nose, as well as her bad eye.
Thankfully, this isn't a case of abuse. An MRI revealed a mass behind Lexi's eye, and the rescue will know more on Tuesday.
NYC Second Chance Rescue will see that Lexi gets the care she needs for her eye. She's only a year old and is a very sweet dog. Once her health issues are taken care of, Lexi will make someone a wonderful companion.
