After eight years of making heavenly (or is it divine?) truffles and other chocolate creations, Mona and Tony Newbauer have fulfilled a long-time wish: to own their own space in Langley.

Sweet Mona’s Chocolate Boutique originally opened on February 17th, 2006 as 1 Angel Place, Chocolate Bar. Today, Sweet Mona’s is thriving as a gourmet specialty chocolate shop featuring handmade chocolates and confections, gelato and an espresso bar.

In their new home, at 221 2nd Street, the Newbauers are continuing their grand plan to set Sweet Mona’s Chocolate Boutique on the road to success with a vision to “sweeten the world.”

The shop has a full complement of candy makers, counter staff, sales and shipping people. They have expanded their wholesale reach throughout Whidbey Island.

Their new location fulfills the Newbauer’s dream of truly setting down roots in the City of Langley. After four months on construction, four crazy days of moving and help from nearly 40 volunteers, the job was completed. At 221 2nd Street, there is far more room for customers to relax with a drink or a gelato, either inside or on the lovely patio (which has been well-used during the summer).

For more information, please contact Mona Newbauer at 360-221-2728360-221-2728, visit the website for Sweet Mona’s (www.sweetmonas.com), or stop by for a drink or a gelato (or whatever else calls to your sweet tooth.
