A mixed breed dog in Houston, who has endured unimaginable cruelty,is now ready for her forever home.
Katherine the Great was rescued and fostered by a Good Samaritan named Annah back in January. This sweet girl is yet another example of animal cruelty and the length an abuser will go to inflicting pain on a helpless creature.
Katherine was found after someone had cut off her ears and shot BB's at her. The BB's had to be surgically removed after being embedded in her front leg. The kind lady who saved her has spent much of her personal funds to save Katherine, and needs help.
Not only has Annah helped with vet expenses, but to find this sweet dog a rescue or a forever home. Annah describes Katherine
"She's a small cattle dog mix, 37lbs about 16 inches tall a a HUGE snuggle bug."
Katherine has been spayed, is up to date on her vaccinations. Her leg is healing from surgery, and Katherine is now ready to move on with her life. There's only one other obstacle to overcome. Katherine the Great needs to start heartworm treatment within the next few weeks.
Despite all that life has thrown at her, Katherine is quick to give a hug to people who hug her first. She's a cuddle bug, and is looking for someone who has a big fenced-in yard, or will allow her to live inside with their family.
A few people have expressed interest in Katherine, but according to a Facebook post on Valentine's Day, she still needs a home. Please share Katherine's story. Anyone interested in rescue or adoption is asked to call Annah at 713-503-7136.
