As 'Sweet Home Alabama' season 4 continues, bachelorette Kelsey Dee Smith is developing connections with several of the guys. While she is figuring out who stands out and who doesn't, it is getting increasingly difficult for her to eliminate. Episode 4 which aired on Friday, Dec. 6 contained a little bit of everything: Dates, kisses, drama, horses, children, dancing, mechanical bulls, and extreme ego.
It appears I was right about Thomas Wilson Pace from episode 1. I wanted to believe that he was just talking for the camera once or twice, but I had a feeling he was completely in love with himself. It appears that he is. Throughout most of this episode especially, he carried on and on about how he was the best choice, and emphasized that several of the guys don't stand any chance at all.
Though Thomas was condescending to Zach, the Louisiana horse shoer did indeed score a date with Kelsey. Likewise, Chase - the dreamy cowboy from Nebraska got his chance to bond with her through some horseback riding lessons. Though Zach's date did not contain a kiss, Kelsey was complimentary to him and told him she was glad he was there. Her date with Chase seemed to contain more chemistry, however.
Then it was time for another group date. Since Kelsey is studying to be an elementary teacher, the guys accompanied her in a classroom for career day. Pilot Thomas Mann really shined, and the children loved him. They also seemed to enjoy Colin's explanation of his landscaping work. Somehow foul-mouthed Emilio managed to turn off his cursing once again. Jared Knight was absolutely adorable as always, and sacrificed his favorite hat for a project. Kelsey seems to have picked up on the fact that he's one of the most genuine men there. City boy Chris showed off his art skills, and also his good heart. He undeniably is one of the most beautiful men on season 4 - both inside and out, but I had a feeling he and Kelsey wouldn't actually "click."
Later, city boy Danny got to accompany Kelsey for some dancing and mechanical bull-riding. He's not used to cowboy boots, but he wore them anyway, and tried to learn some country dancing. The two share a quick kiss at the conclusion of the date, which seems to secure his spot for at least a little longer. I could be wrong, but I think he will be sent home in about two weeks?
During elimination time, Chris was the first man Boyd tapped on the shoulder. As sad as it was to see him go, I wasn't surprised, simply because I didn't see the "match." I liked Chris though. Sigh. Next up, was Zach. Aw...I liked him too, but I could tell that their date didn't really have that true spark. However, I thought he might stick around just a little longer. While both men eliminated took Kelsey's decision well, the third elimination is when the drama started.
I had a feeling Thomas Wilson Pace wasn't going to get as far with Kelsey as he thought, but the tap on the shoulder made me fear he was getting a date. Kelsey basically told him she didn't get a good vibe from him, and that she could tell he wasn't there for the right reasons. With the exception of Emilio (who has the power to fool just about any girl - unless of course they're watching SHA), she seems to have good discernment. She knew guys like Jared are absolute sweethearts, and she knew Thomas wasn't....plain and simple. At first, Pace acted like he was trying to change Kelsey's mind, but then walked away. He first told the guys he got a date, and sat down as if all was well, before telling them he was leaving. He told the camera over and over again that he didn't have any interest in Kelsey, that he wasn't attracted to her, and basically that he wasn't hurt at all. Either way, he had the guys jaws dropping to the floor in disbelief. SHA fans were glad to see him and his poor attitude go.
So anyways, my predictions at this point in time? I've been decently close to accurate in my original predictions so far, but there are always a couple surprises throughout any given SHA season.
I think Todd, Emilio, and Nate are definitely her top city choices at this point in time. It's obvious that Emilio is going to continue to swoon her, and that she's had a massive attraction to Todd since she met him. She also has said that Nate was one of the first men to stand out to her. Though I like Travis and how he's "no drama," I don't think he's standing out to her. He seems on the chopping block. Though she had a decent date with Danny, I don't think he's going to be a final four contender...but hey, I've been wrong before.
Country boys? This one is getting tough. Justin had the first date, and has really stood out to her from the beginning. They didn't kiss on their date, but I think there is more to come. Dylan also remains a frontrunner. On their date she spoke to him as someone with husband potential. It's also obvious that Colin isn't going anywhere just yet. He came in with an advantage, but at the same time, I think she's worried about "trusting" him - she has said he sounds rehearsed, and called him a lady's man tonight. She did like how he interacted with the children though. Hmm....they're definitely going to make-out, but I'm not convinced he's her final pick just yet. Chase Miller also made a strong showing tonight, and he's really cute...so anything could happen. I'm wanting to see more of her with Thomas Mann, but so far, I don't feel like he's a top pick of hers. Maybe a date is coming? Jake is impossible not to love, but I'm thinking next week is his final week. Though Kelsey and Jared haven't kissed, it's obvious that she deeply admires him, and isn't going to let go of him easily. I'd say she's a smart girl for that.
So here it is, folks. This season is getting harder to decode....much harder. In fact, I think this season is harder to decode than previous ones.
However, if I had to guess right at this instant, I would say that Todd, Dylan, Colin, and Justin are her final four. Still though, I feel like I'm going out on a limb here. I also could see Emilio and/or Jared (I hope) ending up among the last suitors. Chase could easily get there too. This is tough friends....very tough. I'm second guessing here. Part of me almost thinks that a "gut feeling" about Colin could send him home in the last six or so. Unlike previous seasons, the guys the bachelorette hasn't ever kissed (Jared and Justin) still seem like some of the strongest contenders, so it's really difficult to say.
As she is getting ready for another round of eliminations, Kelsey is having a harder time saying good-bye. Did she make the right decisions this week? Who are your favorites?
