Sweet, blind dog in Tennessee needs a helping hand

Oakridge Shelter

Update 2/22/14: The following post was issued by the Facebook page 'Adoptable Animals at the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter'

I am reposting this because we are so thrilled for Elf. He recently completed a lengthy treatment for heartworms and is now heartworm free. He was also just ADOPTED!

A sweet-natured, blind dog named "Elf," is looking for someone who is willing to take a chance on him.

Earlier this month, the seven-year-old pit bull arrived as a stray to the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and today, he is still waiting for a family of his own.

According to those individuals who have had the pleasure of meeting Elf, he is "the sweetest dog ever."

Elf is good with other dogs who do not jump all over him - understandable given his sight disability.

Currently, the facility has exhausted their options for Elf and they are in need of a wider networking audience to help him find a suitable home.

Please take a moment to network Elf's information - he deserves a wonderful life as a beloved companion.
