Update 8/11/14: Bad news...Franco had a rescue agency, but his foster home and rescue have fallen through; he has 24 hours before he will be put down.

A sweet dog, who has endeared himself to volunteers at the Chicago Animal Care and Control facility in Ill., is out of time - in fact, he must have a firm hold from a rescue agency by 7 p.m. tonight or he will be gone forever.

Late this week, a volunteer emailed the National Dog News Examiner stating:

He has until Saturday. I adore him.

Franco has been listed on the CACC Transfer Team Facebook page since late June - to date, he has not been selected for rescue by an approved Homeward Bound rescue partner.

The following information has been released about the young (approximately one year of age) dog:

good on leash....happy to meet dogs through fence. Seemed like he wanted to play. bite wounds have healed nicely. sweet dog, tolerates handling all over

Intake notes:

He took treats so sweetly. He is adorable. property 6/26..he was abandoned and confiscated.

Please take a moment to network on Franco's behalf - time is not on his side.
