A more than six hour standoff at an apartment complex in Colorado Springs resulted in the arrest of a wanted felon named Michael Quirova on Tuesday evening, the Colorado Springs Police Department reported.
According to the department, officers were called to the Fir Tree Apartments on Radiant Dr. at approximately 2:46 PM on a report that an armed and dangerous wanted felon was seen entering a residence there. After unsuccessful attempts to get the individual to come out of the apartment and after learning that Quirova was possibly holding a female there against her will, officers called in the Tactical Enforcement Unit.
With neighbors evacuated for their safety, the department reported, a tactical entry was made into the apartment at 9:26 PM. A female was removed from the apartment, and Quirova was arrested without incident a short time later.
20-year-old Quirova was booked into the El Paso County jail where he was being held on several unnamed charges, including felonies. He was scheduled for his first court appearances on the charges on Thursday, December 5.
