Gearing up to participate in Halloween includes so many exciting aspects to enjoy such as costumes, candy, parties, decorations and more. Unfortunately all these festive parts of Halloween can add up to spending a lot of money just to have some fun.
Luckily, when it comes to costumes, there’s no reason to head to a large retailer chain to buy a new one each year. Why not swap costumes with a friend or neighbor? No one would be the wiser!
This Saturday, head over to the Oakland Public Library’s Diamond Branch to swap gently worn children’s Halloween costumes with others in your community. Exchanging hand-made costumes is accepted as well.
The Halloween costume swap event begins at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday October 12 which is also National Costume Swap Day. Be sure to show up on time for the best selection of costumes.
Swapping costumes is not only easy on your Halloween budget, but also “green,” as in good for the environment, as it helps to reduce landfill waste. For more tips on saving money this Halloween, click here.
The Diamond Branch is located at 3565 Fruitvale Avenue in Oakland. Call (510) 482-7844 to receive more information on the costume swap.
