R.J. and Jay Paul Molinere, stars of the History channel's reality show, “Swamp People” were arrested last week over an incident that happened last month. The father and son pair may be legendary in hunting alligators, but they messed up when they attacked another man.
According to TMZ, R.J. and Jay Paul got into an argument with a man on the highway. But instead of driving away and going about their business, R.J. and Jay Paul followed the 24-year-old man to a mini mart. There, they got out of their vehicle and decked the man with a beer bottle. The victim sustained a black eye, swollen forehead and a swollen jaw. The incident happened on August 8, but the victim didn’t report it to the police until five days later.
Jay Paul, 51, and R.J., 25, are charged with aggravated battery, but they were later released on a $1,000 bond. Jay Paul and R.J.’s said that the didn’t do anything wrong. Their rep described the alleged victim as, "someone who is now seeking fame and notoriety.” The rep added, "It's important for their fans to know that the Molineres are the same good-natured, faith-based family they've always been."
