Two people were arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of two others in northwest Houston around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4th.

The two suspects are 20 year-old Arlin Walbert Barrientos and 18 year-old Randy Larios. Both are charged in the murder of 24 year-old Wayland Clark in the 208th State District Court. Immediately after the shooting of the three men, Clark was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he died.

Clark and two male friends were attending a large birthday party at a private residence. The alleged shooters were sitting inside a parked vehicle in a business parking lot next to the residence where the birthday celebration was taking place. At some point, shots were fired by the suspects from the vehicle and they struck Clark and the two other men. After EMS arrived, Clark was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other victims were transported to area hospitals where both were treated for non life-threatening injuries and released.

A Houston Police Department investigation in the following days identified Barrientos and Larios as the possible shooters. Both suspects were arrested on Sunday, Jan. 12th and they have admitted their involvement in the shooting.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants R. Odom and C. Sturdivant, and Senior Police Officers M. Coleman and D. Arnold have been part of the ongoing murder investigation.
