A man is accused of raping and robbing a woman after following her from a Publix grocery store in Decatur.
On Wednesday police arrested the man who they believe may have sexually assaulted four other women in October and November.
DeKalb County police charged Mr. Garry W. Mincey, 35, with rape, armed robbery, false imprisonment and burglary, spokeswoman Ms. Mekka Parish said.
Investigators said Mr. Mincey followed a woman in her 20s from the Publix grocery store at 3649 Flakes Mill Road to her home near Columbia Drive.
While the woman was unloading her groceries from the car, Mr. Mincey allegedly gained access to her home through the garage area then raped and robbed her, Ms. Parish said.
He is accused of taking the woman’s cell phone and laptop before driving off in a dark SUV.
On Wednesday, officers spotted a car fitting the description of suspect’s vehicle in an area near Flakes Mill Road and arrested Mr. Mincey after a brief pursuit, Ms. Parish said.
“Detectives believe Mincey may be connected to four additional sexual assaults that occurred in October and November,” Ms. Parish said.
