Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man wanted in connection with the death of a convenience store clerk Thursday night at the Mobile gas station at State Road 100 and I-95. Sheriff’s spokesperson Lt. Bob Weber says 32-year old Zuheily Roman Rosado of Palm Coast was found by a customer on the floor behind the check-out counter around 10:21 Thursday night. The clerk had been shot and killed, which was confirmed by an autopsy by the Medical Examiner Friday afternoon. Lt. Weber says the store video shows a man entering the store described as a “…light-skinned man, approximately 5’10” tall, wearing blue jean pants and a dark t-shirt.” The man is seen pulling his shirt up to cover his face, and then is seen running from the store moments later toward the west and the northbound ramp to I-95.
Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies with K-9 units were on the scene combing the area three minutes after the shooting was reported, and also were assisted by the Volusia County Sheriff’s helicopter, but the suspect was not located. Lt. Weber added that the incident at the store took place “…in less than 30 seconds…”, and that detectives are continuing their investigation, including a determination of what may have been taken from the store.
