Robert Alex Corchado, wanted by the Florida Highway Patrol in connection with the Kinder Care Center accident in Orlando Wednesday, turned himself in at the Orange County Jail Thursday afternoon. FHP spokesperson Trooper Wanda Diaz says Corchado faces charges of leaving the scene of a traffic crash involving death and leaving the scene of a traffic crash involving serious bodily injury. The Florida Highway Patrol had offered a $5000 reward for Corchado Thursday afternoon through around the same time the 28-year old turned himself in at the Orange County Jail in Orlando.

Update: Car found.

The FHP reported Saturday night, April 12, that they had located the black Mazda at Wentworth Apartments on Dean Road between SR 408 and Lake Underhill, after receiving a call from Corchado's attorney.

The FHP says one four-year old girl was killed in the accident at the Kinder Care Learning Center at 4035 Goldenrod Road Wednesday. FHP reports said a car driven by Corchado left the scene after hitting a car turning into the Center, which then went into the Kinder Care Building and struck several children before coming to a stop at the back of the building.
