The suspect in an abduction attempt that occurred earlier this morning at Wal-Mart in Bremen is currently being held at the Haralson County jail pending charges in connection with the incident.
The attempted child abduction occurred this morning just after 11:00 a.m. at Wal-Mart in Bremen in the toy aisle when Woods grabbed a seven year old girl and put his hand over her mouth. The girl’s mother was nearby and the child managed to break loose from the male suspect who then fled the scene.
Thomas Andrew Woods, age 25, whose last known address was 2420 Old Alabama road in Austell, GA.; was taken into custody shortly after the abduction attempt.
Woods was an active inmate at the Wheeler Correctional Institute from April 19, 2007 until his release less than four months ago on October 19, 2011 where he was serving out a sentence for voluntary manslaughter out of DeKalb County.
