Authorities last week released surveillance photos of their suspect and were able to identify him as 30-year-old Kevin Dixson after numerous tips poured in.

Police allege that Dixson assaulted the unnamed victim without provocation on May 6 at about 2:30 a.m. while they were at a restaurant in the 5000 block of Almaden Expressway. According to authorities, no weapons were used in the attack, but the beating was severe enough to render the victim unconscious. He was treated and released from a local hospital.

Investigation revealed that Dixson was on active probation at the time of the assault, though no motive for the attack has been released.

Dixson was booked into Santa Clara County Jail following his arrest Wednesday at his workplace. He has been charged with felony assault and battery.
