One man was killed and another critically wounded in a double shooting that happened inside a vehicle early Saturday morning in Fulton County.

Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting, but the motive remained unclear Sunday.

Around 1 a.m. officers responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of Old Bill Cook and Godby roads, according to Fulton County police.

When officers arrived, they found the two men, both 21, and both of whom had been shot, inside the car, police spokeswoman Cpl. Kay Lester said.

The driver, Mr. Anthony Bowers, was already dead and the passenger, Mr. Demetrius Cosby, had been shot multiple times, but was still alive, Cpl. Lester said.

He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, she said. His condition was unknown Sunday.
A 42-year-old suspect, Mr. James Hightower, was arrested and charged in the shootings, Cpl. Lester said.

The College Park man was charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the Fulton County jail booking records.

But police have not released any details on where he was arrested, how they connected him to the shootings or whether the murder weapon was found.
