Susie Essman, who plays Susie Greene on the hit HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, will be performing at Caroline’s Comedy Club on Broadway on Saturday, Feb. 4. On Curb, Essman’s character is the uptight, and often angry, wife of Jeff Garlin’s character Jeff Greene (played by Jeff Garlin), and in every episode that features her character, she is constantly berating and shouting expletives at Jeff Greene and Larry David, who plays himself and is the show’s star and executive producer along with Garlin.
In addition to Curb, Essman has hosted her own HBO Comedy Special and has performed on popular shows including the Friar Roast of Jerry Stiller, Politically Incorrect and the Tonight Show. The Manhattan-based comedian has acted in television, film, and comedy since the late 1980s. Other notable television credits include guest appearances on Law and Order, The King of Queens, and American Dad. Film credits include Bolt (2008), Keeping the Faith (2000), and Crocodile Dundee II (1988).
In October 2009, Essman penned a satirical memoir based on her alter ego titled What Would Susie Say: Bulls--- Wisdom About Love, Life and Comedy. Essman’s performances will be held February 4th at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. at Caroline's, 1626 Broadway at 49th Street, 212-757-4100.
