Sushi Showdown: Eat sushi to win at RA Sushi (Photos)

RA Sushi will host a Sushi Showdown on April 7, 2013, from 3 to 6 p.m. at all five of their Phoenix-area locations. The grand prize winner will walk away from the competition with free sushi for a year.

Sushi Showdown will begin in round one with two heats of 12 competitors who will race against the clock to eat as many uncut Tootsy Makis as possible. The Tootsy Maki is kani kama crab mix, shrimp, and cucumber, rolled and topped with crunchy tempura bits.

The top three sushi eaters from each heat will make it into the championship round. Six finalists will then head to the last Sushi Showdown in which each one will eat as many Tootsy Makis as possible in five minutes.

The RA Sushi Showdown winner at each location will receive twelve $50 sushi gift certificates. Second place will receive a $100 RA Sushi gift certificate, third place will get a $50 gift certification, and the fourth place winner will walk away with a $25 gift certificate. Everyone who participates will receive a RA Sushi sweatband and complimentary appetizer or lunch card for a return visit. Participation is limited to 24 entries at each location and advance registration is required. Deadline to sign up is April 4, 2013. Competitors must be at least 18 years of age.
