Sushi Den reigns as one of the premiere sushi restaurants in the US due to its daily fish deliveries from Japan and local farm fresh ingredients. Located on historic South Pearl Street in Platte Park, the restaurant delivers consistently excellent cuisine. Sushi Den was named one of the top restaurants in Denver by 5280 Magazine this month.
The restaurant recently enhanced its cocktail menu including 10 fresh additions. Red Rocks, made with Breckenridge bourbon, sweet vermouth, black raspberry and orange juice, is sweet and refreshing with beautiful color. Pacific Time gives a nod to Japan with Goat vodka, St. Germain with fresh lemon juice and white grapes while Gion District is a delicious blend of Skyy Blood Orange vodka, Skyy Ginger vodka, Asian 5 Spice syrup and fresh lemon juice.
Toshi Kizaki has collected sake over the last 25 years and curated one of the top sake lists in the country. The new sake lists offer a “tasting chart” with sakes ranked from sweetest to driest and sorted by region. The sake menus also offer tasting suggestions. For example, Junmai Sake, which is full, weighty and with good acidity, pairs nicely with Sushi Den’s signature Aburi selections.
The wine list has been revamped to offer 50 wines by the glass and includes unusual tasting suggestions for signature dishes. Miso Black Cod can be paired with Sparkling Jolivet while Yellowtail Kama pairs nicely with Chamisal Estate Pinot Noir.
The restaurant also launched happy hour Tuesday through Saturday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Specialty cocktails are $7, specialty sake is $6 and well drinks are $5.
Sushi Den is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Dinner service is Monday through Thursday from 4:45 p.m. until 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4:45 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. and Sundays from 5 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. The restaurant is located at 1487 South Pearl Street, Denver CO.
