Thelma & Louise, a movie that made an impact 20 years ago, was celebrated again on Monday. The 20th anniversary of the flick was honored by the two co-stars Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis as they reunited in Toronto for a special screening of the movie.
Coming together at the TIFF Bell Lightbox the screening was set up to raise money for the Women's College Hospital Foundation. In addition to actually showing the flick, the two Hollywood actresses discussed the movie theme on a panel for those fans that came to show support.
The film is a groundbreaking female friend movie that encompasses a road-trip. Touching on issues like rape, a fatal shooting and other womanly topics, it was the first movie of its kind to hit the theaters and be so well received. The ending, which still bothers some who love the movie, is the two characters holding hands and flying over the Grand Canyon.
