Representatives for Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have announced that the couple is splitting up after 23 years of partnership. Susan Sarandon appeared on The View to promote her new film 'The Lovely Bones' on Tuesday, where she talked about family, but avoided the topic of her partner Tim Robbins altogether.
When The View co-hosts brought up "family," Susan Sarandon pointed to her sisters Bonnie and Mandy sitting in the audience to divert the subject.
Joy Behar, who now wins the award for "Awkward Question of the Week," asked Sarandon: "Who gives better gifts? You or Tim [Robbins]?"
"Oh," said Susan Sarandon, in what is now an apparent moment of discomfort said: " Oh--everybody gives really good gifts in our family. You know, I used to like to make stuff all the time and I haven't been able to do that lately." Her voice drifted off as a picture of Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins flashed up on the screen behind her.
Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins were never officially married, but at 23 years together their relationship was easily one of the longest running in Hollywood.
