Susan Lucci stopped in to talk to the ladies of “The View” and of course the first question asked by guest host Brooke Shields was, is the iconic Erica Kane returning to Pine Valley? Daytime Confidential reported on Feb. 25 that Lucci, had this to say about the legendary Erica Kane’s return to Pine Valley:
“I so hope that I can return. I want with all my heart to return to All My Children. I just don’t know the answer yet, but what I do know is that all of us are working hard to make that happen. I really want to [bring Erica Kane back to All My Children].”
It appears that the 66-year-old grandmother of four is just as passionate about Erica Kane's return to “All My Children” as fan have been. When “AMC” went off the air in September 2011, Susan Lucci was the only original cast member still under contract to “All My Children.” Susan portrayed Erica Kane for the entire 41 year network run of “AMC.”
Lucci is based in New York and “All My Children” films in Los Angeles. When “All My Children” made the move to LA in 2010, Susan Lucci did not. Instead, Lucci remained in New York and flew to Los Angeles a few times a year, filming for several weeks then returning to New York. The scenes Lucci taped were then edited into the show.
Susan is currently working on the Mark Cherry drama, “Devious Maids,” which is filming in Atlanta and will air later this year on Lifetime. Susan Lucci has also appeared on a few episodes of Lifetime’s ”Army Wives.”
Soap Opera Digest reported on Feb. 25 that Ryan Bittle has been recast in the role of Adam "JR" Chandler, Jr. Due to contractual obligations to the CBS soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful," Jacob Young was not able to return as JR Chandler for the "AMC" 2.0 Internet version.
