Fifteen boats and 30 women anglers participated in the International Women’s Fishing Association’s 2013 Islamorada Light Tackle Tournament Oct. 20-23 hosted by the Islamorada Fishing Club. They caught 941 fish of various species including 234 Spotted Seatrout, 213 Jack Crevalle, 178 Snook, 155 Ladyfish, 124 Redfish, 36 Tarpon and one Permit.

Tournament Co-Chairs were Molly Fleming & Lisa O. Everett and the scorekeeper was Bonnie Baldwin Powell.
The IWFA was established in 1955 to promote women’s fishing in an arena primarily dominated by men. Over the years, it has become one of women’s most prestigious fishing clubs, setting the standards for conservation and providing education through scholarships. The IWFA adopted the International Game Fish Association species list in 2004 affording members’ worldwide opportunities to compete in their own backyards.
