Washington Performing Arts Society will present the acclaimed mezzo-soprano Susan Graham in recital on Saturday, February 4, 2012, 3:00 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall.  Fresh from highly heralded performances of Handel's Xerxes at San Franciso Opera, Ms.Graham is embarking on a North American concert tour, which yielded a prior recital appearance February 1 in New York's Carnegie Hall.  Her new CD, 'A Century of French Song' can be purchased online.

The recital is creatively themed around iconic female figures.  For example, on her recital, she will render two Purcell songs, one of which is about Mary, Mother of Jesus.  Explore more about the recital program.
