Susan Boyle's cat Pebbles inspires comic book

The story of Susan Boyle has almost become the stuff of folk lore at this point. During her initial appearance on "Britain's Got Talent" back in 2009, we learned quite a few things about the singing sensation that have worked their way into the annals of pop culture everywhere.

  • She lives in a tiny collection of villages.
  • She has "never been kissed."
  • Her idol is Elaine Page.
  • She lives with her cat, Pebbles.

Now, the latter fact is quickly getting a life of its own. In a new story from WalesOnline, we learn that artist Anastasia Catris has created a new comic entitled SuBo’s Cat: The Imaginings of Susan Boyle’s Pampered Pussy. The comic shows Boyle as a hard-working woman, but one who is also pushed into her stardom by her cat -- who is really the one seeking fame.

Catris had this to say about the creation:

“We didn’t want to be mean to Susan Boyle because she’s a lovely lady. We just wanted something that took the mick out of the whole process.

“So we created Pebbles, this evil Machiavellian ‘pushy mum’ character who pushes Susan Boyle to get her success so that the cat can get all of the glory.”
