'Survivor Week' coverage: the ten best Heroes in 'Survivor' history

(All this week leading up to the "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" finale, I'm going to be taking a look at a number of the show's best moments, characters, and one-liners from its ten-year, twenty-season history. Check back daily for more updates.)

Since this season of "Survivor" is all about Heroes and Villains, I've decided that it only seems appropriate to start with the ten best "true heroes" in the show's history. Unsurprisingly, I have a few differences with the show's interpretation of what a "hero" is. I tend to define a "hero" as someone who inspires us, that we want to root for either because they are battling evil or because they have such an unbelievable story. Some of these people have deceived in the game -- but how do you get far without manipulating a few people along the line?

I hold no false pretenses that this list is unbiased, as just about any "Survivor" list would be.

Check out my picks in the slideshow below, and feel free to agree (or disagree) by leaving a comment!

Honorable mentions: JT Thomas, Stephen Fishbach (Tocantins), Danni Boatwright, Rafe Judkins (Guatemala), Amanda Kimmel (China, Micronesia), Bob Crowley (Gabon)

10. Natalie White (Samoa) - How can you not root for someone who took down Russell Hantz? Granted, Natalie didn't necessarily play the most exciting game out there, and many people believe she didn't deserve to win. However, she was likable, funny, and managed to kill and cook a rat. For someone completely out of her element, she did a good job.

I agree with everyone except terry. if he was really a hero he would've used his idol to save on of his old tribe mates thus possibly helping him win.
