Last night was the season of drama, after 27 seasons of survival and competitions, "Survivor" decided to enter into the drama genre. The show has done this by pitying veteran players against one of their family members. Therefore the drama and tears and whining abounds.
“Survivor” this season isn’t a competition, but rather more like a soap opera. The producers thought they were being wise, well; yes they were, but not up to par with what this show is about, or what viewers enjoy. There is Rupert, a guy who wants everyone to think that he is the nicest person in the world, giving up and trading places with his wife who was eliminated on the first vote. And worse of all, there is Colton, one of the nastiest, most humiliating and downright mean person ever seen on reality television, pretending he has mended his ways, but no, he is still mean and outright disgusting in behavior and people skills.
It is unfortunate, “Survivor”, viewers were looking forward this season’s premiere, but based on the first episode, this is going to be one of the worse season yet in “Survivors” history and will let producers know that change is good, however, must keep in mind what this show is about and soap opera drama isn’t it’s true nature.
“Survivor” runs on Wednesday at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
