Contrary to what you might have saw on "Survivor: Nicaragua" Wednesday night, Brenda Lowe was in fact playing this game. As a matter of fact, she had a solid strategy up until the very end -- she was just taken as way too much of a threat to stick around.
On Thursday, I had a chance to talk with Brenda about her experiences on the show.
--
Matt: So first of all, what happened with the fire? Was anyone at fault for that?
Brenda: I was one of the people in charge of the fire -- I'm like a little pyro! We had covered stuff from the rain, but it was Jane who put more wood on it. If we had left it the way it was, the embers were there and we could have started the fire very easy ... I don't know what she was thinking. It wasn't intentional by any means.
So what was the deal with Chase -- why did he trust you so much, and do you think it was some kind of crush?
I think it was beyond a crush. It was in the beginning we really bonded tightly on day one, but it was something very natural, very sweet -- I was not playing him, I was not like 'that's the guy!'
... I know it is the corniest line in the world, but I liked his spirit. I wanted to play with someone I really trusted, and I trusted him immediately. There was a lot they didn't show, but we had just a natural trust.
Going to tribal, Jeff tried to make a big deal out of scrambling. What were you really doing before you guys took off?
I did the only thing that I could have done -- and it was my strategy -- was with the people who could have saved me in Chase and Sash. Everyone else wanted me long gone, and I just wanted to drill into their heads that I am a part of their life in this game. By going after me, they are going after you! I'm not messing up anyone's game, and I'm still fighting for you guys ... I wanted Sash to be inspired in me and want to give me the idol.
I hated the way it looks, that I just gave up -- that was [expletive], and that's the only curse word I used ... I had an intelligent, smart strategy and it just ended the way it did.
So was Purply Kelly playing the game, or was she actually as invisible as she has been to us?
She's a sweet girl, and I think she was just playing as she was going ... but who's to say an invisible strategy isn't a strategy? She's there and I'm not.
Are you see to see Brenda gone?

wasn't very impressed with Brenda. When they did show her she really didn't do much around camp but sleep. maybe that was a stratagy to conserve energy. Bottom line she wanted the two guys to take care of her because she self proclaimed herself the leader. I don't think they had the same idea...
