'Survivor' finale to take place on a Wednesday, moving from Sundays

As reported by EW this morning, the finale episode for "Survivor: Cagayan" will take place on Wednesday, May 21 with a two-hour episode followed by the one-hour Live Reunion Show. This marks the first time in since Season 5, "Survivor: Thailand," that the finale and reunion have not taken place on a Sunday night.

The last time "Survivor" had a finale episode on a Sunday night, Richard Hatch was crowned winner and Sole Survivor back in 2000. EW reports that the move from Sunday nights is probably due to the late start this season had, when it began in late February to avoid the Olympics. That would have it running later into May sweeps than usual and because the ratings for "Survivor: Cagayan" have been pretty strong, they must feel confident it can lock down Wednesday night.
