'Survivor: Cagayan', Episode 3 preview: 'Cops-R-Us'

Like a massive, chaotic maelstrom (a tropical vortex, perhaps?), the all-new cast of "Survivor: Cagayan" blew in last week, leaving tons of wreckage and a few casualties in its wake. I might have been a bit hard on the shenanigans that were afoot, noticing that this season seems to have several contestants that don't fully grasp, understand or are otherwise familiar with the show's history or how to play the game. Others felt like the two-hour premiere ep was a strong start. All of us can agree that it was definitely entertaining, even if it didn't necessary instill us with hope for "greatness."

But the cast themselves will be dealing with a real storm this week as some brutal weather hits camp. Rumor has it that this season had incredibly bad weather throughout, which we haven't really seen in many seasons. The timing of this storm hitting could be crucial, because this time period - Day Four through about Day Eight - seems to be the toughest to master mentally. Usually, this is when we see strong people crack, and that's on a sunny day.

CBS describes tonight's episode as follows:

Episode 2 – “Cops-R-Us” - THE CASTAWAYS’ SPIRITS ARE DRENCHED BY A MONSTER MONSOON, ON “SURVIVOR,” WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5. The castaways’ spirits are drenched by a monster monsoon. Meanwhile, two castaways form a “blue-blooded” alliance, and the “Brains” must win a challenge to avoid another trip to tribal council, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, March 5 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Analysis. As was hinted in last week's preview of tonight's episode - and is confirmed in Episode 2's title - it looks like Tony comes clean with Sarah about his real-life occupation as a police officer. You may remember, the greasy Tony lied for no real reason last week when Sarah pegged him for a cop right from the beginning. But if the description is true, this new "blue-blooded" alliance is a real'll be interesting to see how this impacts the Brawn Tribe, since Tony has an Idol and also seemed to be near the bottom of the tribe's pecking order.

But the real anticipation tonight isn't about Tony and's got to be about the Brains Tribe, am I right? The colossal dysfunction that occurred last week was hard to watch and even more difficult to take your eyes away from. Like a train-wreck full of nerds. Will they find themselves right back at Tribal Council? What became of Garrett's hidden Idol that was left back at camp: Will it be discovered or will the producers put it back in play? And is Spencer as good at Survivor as he thinks he is? We shall soon find out. And J'Tia...good lord...what will she do next?

Funny that all the drama seems to be revolving around the Brawn and Brain Tribes this week, but a great majority of this week's released press photos featured the Beauties. Granted, these are the photos that most of us want to see! But is that a hint that there will also be some trouble with our model contestants?

Let's see if some strategic game-play shows up tonight, or if the tumultuous weather will wash away any hope of such an occurrence. Be back later for my full recap and analysis and of course, my exclusive interview tomorrow with the voted out contestant!
