Tonight’s episode of Survivor: Blood vs.Water started out with Kat’s entrance to Redemption Island. She woke John and Laura up, and Laura asked her to tell them what happened. Kat explained her story and continued to worry about what Hayden would think of her. After being proud of herself for not crying the night before, Kat sat alone out on the beach the next morning, sobbing, still worrying Hayden would be ashamed because she hadn’t played the game the right way.
Everyone made their way to Redemption Island Arena. The second Kat walked in, she asked Hayden to hug her, and she started crying and apologizing. Hayden assured Kat their relationship was going to be fine, and their relationship was even more important than the game. Jeff asked if Hayden wanted to trade spots with Kat, and he told Kat he thought he was in a good spot. Kat said she would switch because she worried she would lose the duel. They agreed Hayden was in a better spot to win the game, and Kat decided she would play in the duel.
During the duel, Kat, John, and Laura each had to untie knots in order to release a machete they then had to use to chop a rope and release puzzle pieces. The final portion was to arrange the puzzle pieces into a fire-shaped puzzle. John finished first, so Laura looked at John’s as an example. Kat didn’t want to look at the others because she didn’t want to cheat, and Laura pulled ahead to finish second, eliminating Kat from the game. She and Hayden said good-bye, and she again asked him not to break up with her. John gave the Hidden Immunity Idol clue to Monica, who told him she didn’t mean to disrespect him, but she felt like it was poison in the game. Once again, she threw it into the fire.
Hayden’s tribe mates comforted him when they got back to camp, but he felt bad for not switching places with Kat and taking her spot on Redemption Island. He tried to see the bright side, that this could strengthen his game, since he was now only playing for himself. Aras went off to meditate on his own, and Tyson brought the idea up to the rest of the tribe to get Aras out as soon as possible. Not having loved ones, the remaining five tribe members agreed to stick together.
Tina continued to enjoy Vytas as he put the charm on the ladies. Tina even began to fantasize about grandbabies and told the camera wouldn’t mind if Vytas took a liking to Katie. Laura B. also enjoyed having Vytas around, but she would stick with the girls over him if that was better for her game. While Vytas was out in the water, the ladies agreed if they lost, he would have to be the one to go.
Both tribes headed off to the Immunity Challenge, which Jeff revealed was also being played for a reward of fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, lemonade, and iced tea. Tadhana chose to sit Ciera out, and everyone got into position, chained together at the ankles. One person from each tribe had their wrist linked into coils, which they first had to unwind before making their way through an obstacle course, all while remaining attached. They had to retrieve multiple bags, which contained balls and chains that had to be connected to create bolos. Tyson finished putting all of his bolos together first and landed three of them on the rungs before Tina, winning Immunity and reward for Tadhana once again.
Tadhana enjoyed their afternoon picnic, even though Tyson admitted he didn’t really even need the food after everything he had been eating at camp.
Back at camp, Laura B. decided it would be a good idea to tell Vytas he was the one being voted out. She didn’t want to blindside anyone and wanted them all to enjoy their afternoon together. He wondered how he was supposed to have a good afternoon after hearing that, and the remaining women said absolutely nothing. The others couldn’t figure out why Laura wouldn’t have talked to the rest of her alliance before making such an announcement, and they all agreed they’d voted Kat out because of trust. Tina admitted to Vytas that it might actually be Laura getting voted out, and the ladies started to wonder if the better decision was to vote Laura out instead of Vytas.
Galang arrived at Tribal Council, and Jeff immediately asked Laura what happened when they got back to camp. She explained that she took it upon herself to let Vytas know he was going home. Vytas said it was discouraging to get that kind of news, and Monica said it was extremely risky. She added that Laura should have discussed it with her alliance before talking to Vytas, and Katie agreed. Vytas thought Aras would be proud of him and explained they still have a long way to go in fixing their relationship. Laura said that was one of the reasons she wanted to write Vytas’ name down. She also said she broke out of her shell and was learning how to open up to people. Tina agreed that she liked getting to know people and hearing their stories, but Vytas reminded everyone he was going to write down the name of the least trustworthy person. In the end, the others agreed, and it was Laura who was sent to Redemption Island.
