Tonight’s episode of Survivor: Blood vs.Water picked up with Tadhana’s big return to camp after voting Brad out. Ciera was excited to stick around, but she started plotting how to get Caleb to switch over and vote with the girls. Hayden wondered what that meant for him and Vytas and whether or not they were the two on the outs.
Brad made his way over to Redemption Island to announce his exit to John and Candice – both were quite happy to see him. Brad told them before they hit him, he was waving the white flag and tried to say he was playing a game.
Over at Galang, Laura M. snuggled right up to Aras and gave him a massage, hoping their closeness would get her further in the game. Aras was set on his alliance with Tina, Tyson, Monica, and Gervase. Laura B. felt distanced from her tribe, being the only one who hadn’t previously competed.
In the morning, everyone headed to Redemption Island Arena for the duel. Monica told Brad she was sorry and asked to take his spot, but he refused. In the challenge, each person had to take a crate apart and use the pieces to build a plank, one piece at a time. After they crossed the bridge, they had to take the pieces apart and build a puzzle. All three were neck-in-neck by the time they started building their puzzles, but John finished first, followed by Brad, finally eliminating Candice. She and John said their good-byes, and John gave the Hidden Immunity Idol clue to Monica. Once again, Monica didn’t look at it and threw it right into the fire.
Back at camp, Monica thanked her tribe for their support while Brad was competing earlier. She and Tina spoke alone about their alliance, a merge, and reconfiguring the alliance after they figured out who they needed and who they didn’t.
Tadhana dealt with plenty of injuries – bug bites, scrapes, rashes, and Katie even contracted some sort of toe fungus similar to Athlete’s foot that caused her to lose toenails. Caleb bonded with Vytas and enjoyed being the swing vote.
Both tribes met Jeff for the Immunity Challenge. The Lauras and Monica sat out for Galang, as each tribe sent one member at a time to the top of two water slides. They had to slide down, side-by-side, and catch a large, foam ring along the way. Once they got off the slide, they had to toss the ring to try and land it on one of four pegs sticking off a wooden post. The competition was close; but finally, Hayden scored the fifth and final point for Tadhana, and the tribe won Immunity for the first time. They got to choose a feast of steaks or trade that for fishing gear, so they took the steaks.
For the first time this season, Galang had to talk game. Laura B. tried to make a move by telling Kat and Tina the other two ladies who sat out during the competition were talking smack and felt upset they had to sit out of the challenge. They didn’t buy it, and the tribe quickly threw ideas around to vote one of the Lauras out, since they thought Laura M. might be able to beat Brad at Redemption Island.
At Tribal Council, Jeff asked returning players how the game changed this time around. Tina admitted she played more in her first five days this time than she did her entire last season. Monica chimed in and said she was always looking for her loved one at the duels. Aras said Vytas was kind of on his own, since Aras had to work on the relationships in his current tribe. Jeff asked Laura B. if she belonged out there, and she said she felt a part of the tribe decision-making, helps around camp, and she definitely belonged. After the votes were read, it was Laura M. the tribe decided to vote out, and she certainly did not look happy as Jeff snuffed her torch.
