Tonight’s episode of Survivor: Blood vs.Water opened with Katie’s arrival at Redemption Island. She told her mom and Laura they had to draw rocks, and they were both very surprised. Tina struggled with the idea of going against her daughter in the next duel – she even said she wasn’t opposed to letting her win.
Kasama returned to camp, and Ciera reminded everyone she loved them. Hayden was shocked he was still in the game and told the camera he was sticking with Ciera until the end. Monica couldn’t believe Gervase and Tyson stuck with her. She continued to go on and on plotting and trying to figure things out for their next move, so Tyson finally revealed that he had an Idol. Tyson told Monica to shut it down and stop talking game.
In the morning, Ciera and Hayden were happy they made a move and felt determined to find a crack in the alliance to sway the numbers their way.
Everyone headed off the Redemption Island Arena, and Jeff brought Tina, Laura, and Katie in. Tina said it was the hardest day and admitted she wasn’t sure she could give 100% competing against her own daughter. In the duel, each of the ladies had to tie sticks together using twine to create a pole. They then had to use the pole to collect three keys hanging off pegs on the other side of a fence by sticking the pole through the fence. Laura collected all three keys first and moved on to unlock three locks and open her fence, which she quickly did and won the duel. Katie dropped her second key in the sand and struggled to pick it back up, leaving the door open for Tina to open all three locks and finish in second place, eliminating Katie from the competition. They briefly talked to Jeff afterward, and Katie was on her way. As the duel winner, Laura chose to give the Immunity Idol clue to Ciera, and Tina told Hayden to win the challenge.
Back at camp, Ciera and Hayden read the clue and went in search of the Immunity Idol, once again not knowing Tyson already found it. When Hayden couldn’t find it, he assumed that meant someone else had already found it. Gervase asked Monica how much she trusted the remaining players in the game, and she told him she trusted both him and Tyson a 10, on a scale of 1-10. They hugged, and Monica admitted she would always have a bond with them, but she told the camera she was playing for Monica. Meanwhile, Ciera and Hayden plotted what to tell Monica to get her to flip on Tyson and Gervase.
The group met Jeff down on the beach for the Immunity Challenge, during which each person had to dive into the water and move a buoy along a rope in the water and around a pole on top of a platform, before swimming back to shore. Once they got back to shore, they had to untie a bag of letter tiles and spell out a phrase. Despite being the last one to get on shore, Ciera came from behind and won Immunity, spelling out “You are going to have to dig deep” before anyone else. She also won the reward and was able to select one person to enjoy the reward with her, so she chose Hayden. They each got to choose one entrée from a menu, and their food would be delivered to camp that afternoon.
Ciera was very excited to have won Immunity because she knew it would make her mom proud. She and Hayden enjoyed their picnic at the edge of camp, while Monica, Gervase, and Tyson reassured themselves it was better all three of them didn’t eat together. Then, Ciera put the plan into motion and told Monica that Tyson and Gervase had been talking bad about her. It brought Monica to tears, and she decided to start playing for Monica. (Again). Tyson and Gervase noticed and wondered what the conversation had been about.
At Tribal Council, Hayden and Ciera continued with their story, and when Jeff asked if they looked for cracks in the alliance, Hayden said not necessarily – they wanted to expose the truth. Monica said Ciera had come to her with some unbecoming things Tyson and Gervase had said about her, and Tyson said he picked rocks last time because he trusted her. Gervase said no one said anything to Monica when this happened, and they were saying anything they could to her now to make her switch to their alliance. Ciera said she played along with the jokes because she was going for number four, but she wanted Monica to know the truth. Hayden told Monica Tyson and Gervase would beat her in the final three, and she told him that was true. Hayden and Ciera repeated over and over that Monica was Tyson’s puppy dog who just went along with everything he did. Ciera reminded Monica her family would be watching, and she could win if she made a big game move. After all that, Monica stood by her alliance, and Hayden was voted out.
