Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and with the winter storm finally behind us, it's the perfect time to head out with your beau. New York offers tons of restaurants and entertainment options, especially for this particular time of the year. But if your not one for the hustle and bustle of the city, here are a few things you can try instead to enjoy your significant others company.
1. Stay in ▪ Not everyone is a fan of going out to celebrate on V- Day, and there's nothing wrong with that. You can instead opt for a romantic evening at home. Both parties can cook or you can order in, exchange gifts and cuddle up on the couch with a good movie. Sweet, simple, to the point.
2. Celebrate earlier or later ▪ While it's always nice to celebrate the day of an event, sometimes it's more conducive to go out before or after. There's nothing wrong with enjoying Valentine's Day the weekend or maybe even the day before. Though there are a lot of deals during the actual day, you might also score some stuff after.
3. Do something untraditional ▪ A lot of people tend to flock towards dinner at a nice restaurant for V-Day, but that doesn't mean it's your only option. Do a nice brunch, go bowling, book a spa day. Try to think outside of the box event wise for activities you and your partner can enjoy.
4. Leave town ▪ Valentine's Day doesn't always have to be spent in your hometown. Catch a flight or rent a car to get away for the weekend. There are a lot of places in the Tri-State area and beyond that make perfect weekend retreats.
Valentine's Day should be fun, special and intimate. It's a day of celebrating with those you care about. However, the overcrowding of the city can sometimes make events like this less than desirable. But don't fret. Use my tips and this will be a V-Day you won't soon forget.
