Surveillance video captures two women stealing puppy from Pittsburgh shelter

UPDATE 2/14/14: Wonderful News! The puppy is in the custody of the Homestead Police. They will be returning it to the Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center. According to wtae.com, the two women, whose names have not been released, have been taken into custody.

Smitty is back in the care of ARL after being stolen earlier this week.

The Animal Rescue League and Wildlife Center on Hamilton Avenue in Pittsburgh stated today on their Facebook page that on Tuesday, February 11, a neutered male Lab-mix puppy was stolen from their shelter.

The entire theft was caught on surveillance video.

Please watch and share the footage to see if you or anyone you know can identify these two women. Sadly this was done in the presence of a child.

They are asking anyone with information to contact Pittsburgh Police by dialing 911.
