Update 8/27/14: Rocky has been rescued!

Rocky, a four-year-old bulldog mix, arrived to the Chicago Animal Care and Control facility on August 2 when his owner relinquished ownership.

The handsome dog quickly endeared himself to the shelter staff and volunteers who describe him as "perfect." As such, Rocky was available to the public for adoption, but that all changed when he got sick. On Saturday, the Chicago Animal Care and Control Transfer Team (CACC) broke the news to their Facebook followers:

There are great dogs....and then there are PERFECT DOGS----Rocky is PERFECT. A sweet sweet gentleman, with amazing manners. He is calm at 4 years old and would JUST LOVE to curl up in a bed. NOW---WE FOUND OUT HE IS SICK!!!! HE may have pneumonia and he got taken off the adoption floor AND NEEDS RESCUE ASAP!

The team added this plea:

Needs rescue asap. WE LOVE HIM SOOOO MUCH!!! This is breaking our hearts.

Rocky is a great dog who has fallen on hard times through no fault of his own. Please take a moment to network his information to help him find a rescue agency.
