Cindy Jane is joining The Union Artist Studios. Although she will still maintain her home studio, Jane will now have a public work space where visitors can stop by to see works in progress, newly-completed commissions and work she has for sale.
"I am excited about this new partnership," Cindy states. "There is such positive energy among the artists who occupy the studios at the Art Lofts. I believe this energy will help to invigorate my work and I look forward to becoming an active participant in the many events they hold throughout the year."
Jane is a surrealist painter whose work depicts a world of transgenic and geomorphic landscapes made up of agglomerative shapes that merge terrestrial, aquatic and celestial environments to create an ambiguous terrain with forms reminiscent of anatomical and botanical structures. Some of the images that populate these environments include fish, birds and other familiar wild and botanical life, although her compositions also contain imagery that viewers find suggestive, even erotic. But whether that's a positive or a negative is left to the viewer to decide because Jane's goal is to open a dialogue between viewers and her paintings that they can contemplate for years to come, which explains why Cindy Jane is emerging as an unequivocal talent of unique and resolute vision and why her solo show, Morphic Adaptations, was one of the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center's most popular and critically acclaimed exhibitions in 2013.
Jane expects to open her studio to the public beginning April 1. The studio will be open to the public on Saturdays and during the week by appointment.
