Sacramento Surge faced the Bay Area Rosal Saturday night on the road seeking their third win of the season. Rosal won a tight game last week against Turlock and was looking to win their second straight game. The Surge were hoping to end their three game skid and notch another "W" in the win column. Both teams were eliminated from postseason contention and are playing for pride.

Saturday night's game was played inside the warm confines of Cabernet Indoor Sports Arena. The host Rosal opened up the game by scoring four straight goals. Sacramento's Selvin Bonilla scored the team's first goal to shorten the gap 4-1 by the end of the opening period. Rosal scored twice in the second period before the Surge came back with two goals scored by Chris Sandoval and Edson Sanchez. The Rosal scored once again to close out the half with a 7-3 lead.

The third period was close affair with both teams scoring two goals each (Jaime Portillo and Juan Flores for the Surge). But in the fourth the game was blown wide open by Rosal. The home team scored seven goals pulling far ahead of the Surge who tried to play catch up with a second goal from Jaime Portillo and scores from Eric Aragon and Norman Levesque. Unfortunately Bay Area's Stefan Clemens' four goal game along with teammates Javier Ayala-Hill and Bryce Campbell's three goal hat tricks were too much for the Surge. Overall the game was relatively clean with only a total of seven penalty minutes. Sacramento had eighteen shot-on-goal attempts for the game but the Rosal had twenty-seven for the game and were actively pressuring the Surge on both sides of the pitch.

Sacramento (2-12) returns home with a two game stand to finish out the 2013-2014 season. Some tickets are available and they can be purchased either at the Estadio Azteca box office or at http://www.sacsurge.com
