McNamara rode this wave in the same area of the Portugal Coast that he set the world record when he rode a 78-foot wave back in November of 2011. Experts are in the process of going over the footage before it is officially deemed a new world-record.

The wave took McNamara for one fast ride, as he told the media, “"You are just going so fast. It's really, really similar to snowboarding on giant mountains.”

McNamara is 45-years-old and hails from Hawaii. He has been riding the waves on his surf board since the age of 11. He turned professional surfer at the age of 17, so he is no stranger to big waves.

What does it feel like to ride a wave that reaches 100-feet out of the ocean? According to McNamara, “you're just chattering, flying down this bumpy, bumpy mountain. Your brain is getting rattled. Your whole body is getting rattled."
