Paws and Prayers is a Northeast Ohio based animal rescue group whose primary mission is to:
- rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home unwanted dogs and cats
- to prevent overpopulation through spay/neuter
- to restore dignity, trust, and quality of life for neglected, abused, and homeless dogs and cats
- to find the best home for each dog and cat in their care
- to educate adopters and the community on pet care, spaying/neutering, training and suitable animal selection for their lifestyle
- to provide a network of resources, volunteers and fosters for animals, animal shelters/pounds and the community.
Foster an animal
They are always looking for people to foster the animals. They will pay for all the medical care and will even supply the food! All they ask is that you bring the dog to show at 2 of our events a month. Many of the animals will only find a home, if they are shown to potential adopters. Many of these animals find homes within just a few weeks. You can really make a huge difference to a dog or cat that just needs a second chance. If you’re interested in fostering an animal, fill out an application.
Adopt an animal
If you are interested in adopting an animal, email them. If you decide you want to adopt, you will need to fill out an application. They charge $200 for most dog adoptions. Puppies start at $250, due to the staggering medical costs of puppies. Cats can be adopted for $90. This goes towards the cost of rescuing and medical expenses, which includes spaying or neutering. They also do a two week trial for all adoptions, if you return the dog or cat within two weeks they’ll refund all but a $25 administrative fee. This is not meant to be a way to "sample" pets, it is meant to be a safety net for the dogs and cats, so they are not kept in homes because of the financial investment made.
Donate
To help Paws and Prayers, you can volunteer, make a donation, or buy something from their store. You can also donate to specific animals in need or to their building fund (so they can have an actual kennel). Every little bit will help!
