Denver metro Citywide Banks are asking folks to vote in the Hand-Up Contest. Seven local charities have been chosen by Citywide and people are asked to vote for their favorite. The winner vote-getter will receive $5000 for that charity. One of the finalists is local animal shelter Foothills Animal Shelter.
Citywide Banks is offering the contest through Facebook and is open to anyone. You don’t have to be a client of Citywide to participate. Go to the Hand-Up Contest page on Facebook and vote a favorite charity. Along with the $5,000 grant for the charity with the most votes, the runner up will receive $1,000, third place receives $750, fourth receives $500, fifth receives $125, six receives $75 and seventh receives $50. Citywide Banks is also giving away prizes to those who vote as well. Prizes include din at Old Major in Denver, and Tony’s Market and Starbucks gifts cards. The contest ends next Monday, March 31.
Foothills Animal Shelter works hard to provide a happier endings for homeless pets. In 2013, the shelter adopted out 5, 229 pets to new forever homes. Over 1,500 lost pets were reunited with their families. A $5,000 donation from Citywide Banks would go to the shelter’s foster program to help medically fragile animals that require special medication, supplies and diets.
Other non-profits involved in the contest are The Cancer League of Colorado, Canine Partners of the Rockies, Centro San Juan Diego, Home Builders Foundation of Metro Denver, Jefferson Center for Mental Health and Rachel’s Challenge.
