Here's a breakdown of the list:

  1. Supernatural (1,127,882 votes)
  2. The Walking Dead (943,087 votes)
  3. The Vampire Diaries (182,826 votes)
  4. The Secret Circle (76,073 votes)

  8. American Horror Story (34,448 votes)
  9. True Blood (26,613 votes)

Season 7 was not a particularly strong showing for Supernatural with the Leviathan story line dividing a lot of long-time fans. In addition, fan favorite Castiel's role was severely reduced and the character of Bobby Singer was killed off as well. Despite these changes the SPNFamily overwhelmingly responded in support of the Winchester brothers.

Season 8 has proven to be a refreshing change of pace. Writer Jeremy Carver has brought in some fresh blood this season with a few new characters, mostly notably the vampire Benny who became friends with Dean in Purgatory. Sam has a new love interest, Amelia as well. Tension between the brothers has been high which always leads to exciting storylines.

Congratulations to "Supernatural" on winning this award.
