TV Line.com just announced this afternoon, Feb. 20, that the "Supernatural" spinoff "Tribes" has announced two of their main characters and one of them is former "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Original" star, Nathaniel Buzolic.

Nathaniel Busolic played the Original cute and adorable vampire known as Kol. He was killed off in last season's "The Vampire Diaries" but has made flashback appearances on "The Originals" and ghostly appearances on "The Vampire Diaries".

Nathaniel will play the role of David Hayden. He is described on the official casting roster as "a shapeshifter from one of the ruling monster families. He had given up his monster life years ago and has been living human."

"Supernatural: Tribes" has been officially described by The CW as a "sweeping drama about the various mafia-esque monster families that unknowingly to humans “run” the underbelly of Chicago and who are being tracked by a newly minted Hunter who’s trying to stop them and rid Chicago of anything or anyone supernatural."

The show will premiere as a back door pilot on April 29's episode of "Supernatural". If the pilot has enough views then then show will be green lit to begin production for the fall season.

At this time with all the fans of "Supernatural" and the fact that the show has been renewed then one would think that the spinoff should have a good chance of succeeding. Unless that is, it fails like "Ravenswood" did in its attempt at a spinoff from "Pretty Little Liars".
