While actor Jensen Ackles may be used to staking vampires, vanquishing demons and ridding homes of ghosts as Dean Winchester in the CW hit "Supernatural," he'll be taking on an unfamiliar role later this year: that of real-life daddy.
"Supernatural" airs Wednesday's at 9 p.m. on Riverside's CW affiliate channel 5.
Ackles' rep confirmed exclusively to People Magazine today that he and wife Danneel Harris Ackles are expecting their first child later this year.
"Thank you for all the well wishes," Tweeted the former "One Tree Hill" actress on Monday night. "We are very excited about our soon to be addition."
Clif Kosterman, the long-time bodyguard for both Ackles and his co-star Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) Tweeted, "well I guess the little one is out of the bag."
Ackles will no doubt get great advice from co-star Padalecki, who became a father himself in March to Thomas Colton with wife and former "Supernatural" actress Genevieve Padalecki (Ruby).
Danneel Harris and Jensen Ackles' played fictional couple Tish and Priestly in the 2007 independent film "Ten Inch Hero." The two began dating in real life shortly thereafter and married in Ackles' home town of Dallas, Texas in 2010.
Fans may get a first look at Danneel's baby bump on Wednesday night as Jensen is scheduled to present at the People's Choice Awards, where he is also nominated for Favorite Dramatic TV Actor.
