The spin off is to be set in Chicago and Dean and Sam will be in the pilot episode to help introduce the new characters but will not be regulars on the new show. Many times spin offs include characters from the regular show but not this one. The show's characters will air in that 20 episode and if the ratings are good then the spin off may begin next fall.

The spin off is supposed to have character that will be more of an ensemble cast than "Supernatural". They are more family centered with both hunters and monsters. The show will also stay in Chicago and won't be in different towns like "Supernatural".

The series' name has yet to be released and the exact date for premiere is still not confirmed other than fall.

The CW president Mark Pedowitz, said on that "The spin-off is in no way an indication of an upcoming end-date for the mother series, the CW's longest-running series, I can see the show continuing to a Season 10 and perhaps beyond. I would love for 'Supernatural' to continue for as long as they can continue, as long as they have great stories to tell. From what I've read, Jeremy Carver is writing arcs that could go longer. As long as fans are there and ratings are there, there's no reason it couldn't continue ... If they can still tell great stories and Jared and Jensen still want to do it, why wouldn't you continue?"

So, what do you think about a Supernatural spin off?
